(M) "Nova? Right right.. Her. Ssshe's.." [Audible Exhale] "..Different. It'sss not her fault mind you."
(V) "Different, how so?"
(M) "Well.. From my ekssperience with her, you k-know as her friend, she was only a bit below average in intelligence, she understood pretty much any basic
fundamentals." [Speaker adjusts in their chair] "But after t-the incident at that p-plan-anet.."
(V) "The tundra planet? planet [REDACTED]?"
(M) "No n-n-no, not that one, the one before it. The uh.. Sssyndicate o-one."
(V) "Right, that one, so what happened? Can you tell us or were you not there for that?"
(M) "I-I-I was there w-with her-r. It was terrible.. Th-the only posssitive from it isss that ssshe do-oessn't rememb-ber it."
(V) "I assume you would be uncomfortable to explain what happened, am I wrong?"
(M) [Silence]
(V) "We'll wrap this up th-"
(M) "No. The more you guysss know the better. I-I am jussst.. Sssteeling m-mysself.."
(V) "Take as much time as you need."
(M) "We-ell, they sssaw potential in her, thought sssshe might be sssome kind of ssecret prodigy, ssso they sstarted putting a bunch of implantsss into her.
Obvioussly I don't know w-w-what they are, they'd never tell usss. But u-uh.. Ssshe..."
(V) "It's okay, if you don't want to say anything, then we can stop here and if you ever feel like trying again then you-"
(M) "J-just ssshut up, Itsss fine." [Speaker shuffles in their chair once again] "Letss jussst ssay I've never... NEVER heard ss-ssomeone sscream a-and cry
ss-sso much, ssso much blood. sshe passssed out at leasst a do-dozen t-t-timesss.. I didn't passss out, t-to my disss-p-pleasure. B-but in the end, t-they
messsed sssomething u-up. basssically dessstroyed all of the chipsss in her head and ssshe wasss left there.. I-I patched her up after they left. It wasss
m-messy.. Ss-sshe wouldn't have had sso troubled and a pain in the ssside. Basssically ssshe wasss jusst turned du-dum-mb.."
(V) [interviewer stays silent]
(M) "After t-that happened.. They jussst.. Ekssiled her. Ssshe wassn't asss ussseful asss they thou-ought. I went wi-ith her."
(V) "Yeah, in the report you somehow not only got onto her exiled pod without them knowing, but onto our shuttle too."
(M) "Thank N-Nova for that. You may not believe it but ssshe wass the sssmartesst when it came to it, ssshe may not know how to do thessse advanced lassser
tech ssstuff, ssshe knowsss how to sssneak around, make makessshift toolsss, live in a tundra planet like it wasss just a regular tuesssday, even taught me
how to live on that ice planet."
(V) "You and Nova seem quite close, you speak to her in such a high regard."
(M) "I'd die for Nova." [The chair squeaks as the speaker stands up] "I'd kill you, your corporation, the sssyndicate corporation, and anyone for her."
(V) "Do you ever question you and Nova's relationship?"
(M) "No, even if she turns out to be an asssshole, I'd do everything to try to bring her back and I'd never betray her. Ssshe saved my life, multiple times."
(V) "Yes.. Yes, you do think of her very highly from what I hear. I.. Uhh.." [Interviewer coughs and flips through pages] "I think that is all for today.
Please stay safe, and if you want to ever talk more then go right ahead and call us."
(M) "V-very w-well. Go-oodbye."
[Interviewer ends the voice recording.]
