so, when wizards were introduced, i liked the idea for sure. they seemed kind of interesting and more like a possibly joke-y free-agent antag like rat king can be: threatening and dangerous, but mostly used with silly intentions. it's wizards!
but it is so so so unbalanced. no one knows what to do with them, the guidebook doesn't explain how severe of an enemy the wizards are. it doesn't explain cohesively if they're free agents or antags, or if they are antags that we kill on sight.
they can permanently cluwn people, which means that they lose the ability to do their job because all items drop off their person. if the cluwn dies, they can't be cloned, because they just end up genefucked, and they can't be biomassed because they're too clumsy, essentially making a poor unfortunate soul waste space in the morgue for all eternity.
wizards also have a spell of insta-gib, which if it hits you... you're fucked. you can't be cloned, only borged, and some poeple just really don't want to be borged. it's one thing to be killed by an antag or situation you can avoid, but a spell of insta-gibbing is absolutely unbalanced and frankly absurd. they're removed from a round instantaneously.
lastly, wizards can just summon weapons into everyone's hand at any time. it turns shifts into a free-for-all of self-antagging, because people either don't realize what they're holding or decide "fuck it" and just start blasting.
wizards should have been playtested before they were added to fix these issues, like the blood cult. it is supposed to be comedic and cosmically terrifying, and yet it is so unbelievably frustrating that it began effecting my actual mood.
