After asking questions in an ahelp as changeling, received explicit instructions to do two things: Not round remove victims, and not place them in the burn chamber. Proceeded to have one person decapitated by the captain after fake-armblading them, then placed their body in the burn chamber after absorbing them, and did the same to another player, forcing them both to play as cyborgs after the ordeal, which neither were very happy about.

What lead up to the ban: Should probly post ahelp logs, it was a LENGTHY one.

First time playing ling in a fair bit, I ahelp asking about changeling status and if being eaten by a ling is RR or not. I was told no. I was indeed told (not explicitly) to not toss people into the burn chamber. I was told to not RR people as I was under the impression that being eaten by a ling wasnt as hard for med to fix as it was. This was just straight up wrong. Lets go over the 4 people I killed that round.

My other atmos tech: Murdered and eaten and left in front of med. Proceeded to not be revived for the whole round and sat in morgue.
The reporter: Same deal. Not revived. Not borged.
The Guy i armbladed: I had captains permission to toss them in the burn chamber. I also ahelped after doing this, to which I had a response that sounded encouraging. the captain took the head of the guy and was going to cremate them (actual RR) but I told cap to give me the head, broke it for the brain, gave it to sci. Saying I asked cap to decapitate them is just straight up wrong. Never did. Cap did that on his own.
The scientist: Completely my fuckup. I brought them into atmos, used a can of N2O to sleep em. Was bringing them into space after taking suit off, but they woke up so I stabbed them and put them into the burn chamber for a second to kill them. Then ate them, realized I fucked up and that they were effectively unrevivable due to the heat in the chamber. I then put them back in to get the brain out and rushed to sci to MMI them. The player was still on the server but chose not to enter the MMI.

Why you should be unbanned: The entire ahelp makes next to no sense. I already know a daylong ban isnt gonna be appealed in time for this to be over. I want the admin team to address this entire situation. I fucked up by burn chambering the roboticist, So I probably deserve this one for breaking admin orders. Not for anything else.

So I received conflicting and just straight up wrong information during the ahelp. Lets go over it.

I was told lings no longer round remove people. This is by technicality true, as fixing a dead linged person has 2 options as far as I am aware. I also was not told there was any other way of fixing this.

Brain/head transfer onto new torso into basic revival procedure
Hyper-specific and difficult to make chem that is almost never made.

However, if these conditions are to be considered as NOT round removal, then burn chambering someone is actually EASIER to fix than being eaten by a ling. You have:

Brain transfer, same as ling
Yet another hyperspecific chem thats almost never made
just straight up pop a new monkey/kobold head with the brain on the torso, then clone.

So... Which is it? Either being linged and ashed are both RR. Or neither is. You cant have it both ways.

Also mentioned during the ahelp was antag toolkits? for some reason? I was told that burn chambers arent in the ling's toolkit so I shouldnt use them. This makes no sense in the context of any antagonist. Is a syndie with DAGD not supposed to be able to singuloose or plasmaflood because they arent in the toolkit of the antag? A theif isnt allowed to use like, a toolbox or an axe to break through a wall because they dont spawn with one? Bloodcult not allowed to use mechs?

The ruling over RR also makes no sense IC or OOC.

Lets imagine 2 scenarios. Changelings arent allowed to kill anyone since its RR. Every ling player is now forced to use only transformation sting. This causes rounds with lings in them to have no antag presence because why would a ling risk having 2 of the same guy running around when they can get all their DNA plus transformations at evac.

Or, lets imagine the scenario of a changeling actually being allowed to eat people: Changelings are a terrifying, horrific threat that entirely justify NT's 'ash on sight' policy. People who go into maints are found later, big hole in their neck, hollowed out completely. Your co-worker who you talked to about their kids suddenly has no memory of them. You realize thats no longer your co-worker. You try to scream, but cannot. You are screwed.

Changelings are supposed to be terrifying. By the banning admin's own words: We encourage antagonists to not play to win, but to play creatively. I got the captain to murder a guy to feed me. Captain wanted to box a ling? He technically did. Roboticist made a borg that opened a door to trit, tritflooded atmos. The Roboticist dies to the thing making the trit. Theres irony there.

It is also a breach of logic to have a changeling even acknowledge or have a single hollowed body even seen. Why would a ling risk discovery when it is a far easier option to simply toss the corpse they ate into the cold vacuum of space, never to be seen again?

Overall:

Burn chambering is easier for med to fix than Linging, so If burn chambering is RR but eating a person isnt, that makes no sense
Antagonist toolkits make no sense when you apply them to other antagonists
IC or OOC changelings not being allowed to kill and get rid of the evidence creatively doesnt make sense, but I accept that some concessions have to be made.

Couple of closing things:

I dont think I was combative in the ahelp? I was tired, and dealing with an admin ruling that made little sense to me kept me up like another 20 minutes or so past when I was planning to go to bed. If I was rude I do apologize, you dont deserve that and that is not fair when I fucked up. No excuses.

Forcing people to play as a borg and them not being happy about it shouldn't even be in the banning message IMO. People die, med cant fix them, they get borged. Its the nature of the game that sometimes people die and get borged and thats just SS14.

Anyways, I would like an admin response to this, regardless of how long it takes.

P.S: It's really funny to have a few ban appeals back complaining about preferential treatment while I am here like everyone else ban appealing.

We have chosen to deny this appeal as deliberately round removing non-objective players is not appropriate for a MRP environment as a changeling or syndicate agent as it prevents roleplay and is an unfair and unpleasant experience for everyone except the perpetrating antagonist.

We have thoroughly examined and discussed this situation and have created a precedent and rulings moving forward to prevent situations like this from happening again. The ingame guidebook is also receiving clarification and updated text reflecting this also.
