Role Ban or Server Ban: This is regarding a admin note left on a server ban
Reason for Ban: EORG
What lead up to the ban: When the evac shuttle docked to the station I had a borg attempt to repeatedly remove me from my mech. I told the borg to stop. It did not. I told it again. It didnt stop. I punched the borg once with my mech in an attempt to get it away. After we docked to CC the borg came at me again and attempted to remove me after which I shot it a few times with my laser to get it to go away.
Why you should be unbanned (in this case have the note removed): The rule which I violated was that I attacked another player while in CC. After extended discussion with admins and moderators regarding the matter it appears that that is an unwritten rule that has been agreed upon by admins.
However my behavior perfectly followed the rules the server presents me with. Those rules being that I should behave the same way I would before the round-end screen showed up. My act of violence followed proper escalation rules as I repeatedly warned the borg to stop what it was doing and even attempted to drive it off with a punch. I made no attempt to chase the borg at any point. I would also like to add that at no point during the interaction did I crit or kill the borg in question. Additionally id like to point out that my role was Roboticist, I had all the proper tools to repair the borg after I damaged it (making the damage less significant) and the right to disassemble it if I see fit due to the nature of my job. During a normal round none of the actions I committed would result in a rule break and are perfectly allowed.
Therefore from my point of view and with the rules presented to me I could not have known my actions would lead to a rule break as I followed proper escalation rules and properly RPed the situation. While I do completely understand the banning admins actions to ban me at the moment due to how my actions may have appeared and the rule they broke I would like to ask that my admin note is removed. That is because I do not think it is right to mark someone as a rule breaker when they broke none of the rules they had access to.
I accept the ban that I received and plan to follow the new rule I was presented with but I would like my note to be removed as I made no mistake of my own when following the rules given to me, therefore I should not be marked in a manner that would affect future admin decisions. (Maybe change the ban note to a warning just so later admins know im informed on how the rules work)
I realize this is my second appeal regarding this situation however I think I am now more informed regarding the whole matter and the rules tied to it so I am now able to make a proper argument for myself.
