Idem's Mentor Application

How old are you?: 23

Have you read the requirements, and ensured you meet them?
I have read the requirements and I do meet the requirements.

How many hours do you have on Funky?
A bit more than 840 hours

Have you helped with whitelists before, or played Nanotrasen Career Trainer on New Player Weekend? Please elaborate on which one.
Yes, i've done both. I've both helped with the whitelists and also played NCT quite a bit, I personally really like helping new players find their footing in funky as NCT.
(I am not sure if this question means 'which one' as in did you do whitelists or NCT or as in on which weekend you played NCT)

What tips you off that a player might be a good fit for Funky, if anything?
If i player is more inclined to roleplay than focus on mechanical things i personally think they'd be an amazing fit for funky as it tends to be more focused on roleplay.

Have you ever had an interesting or fun experience helping a new player? If so, tell us about it.
Absolutely, probably the most interesting experience helping a new player was when i was playing a security officer and i noticed that the HOS was trying to fire a cadet for not bringing a stolen ID card back to the HOP instead of putting it in security, I personally found this absolutely idiotic so i pushed back against it and ended up going to the NTrep and captain to get it solved (yes i also ahelped it), after I ensured the cadet didn't get fired i took them under my wing and tried to teach them whatever they wanted to know. At the end of the shift in OOC they informed me that it was their first time ever playing cadet and that i was the only reason they didn't cryo and leave, this made my entire week and I don't think i will forget it any time soon.

How do you like to teach interns or new players, if at all?
I personally like to ask them what they want to learn and if they know what they want to learn i try to learn them that thing and if they don't i explain the basics and then try to do something in practice with them, that might be surgery, treating someone, trying to set up an engine, doing an artifact node etc.

What areas of the game would you say are your strong suit, if any?
My strongest suit I'd say would be roleplaying and knowing how how to play a good IAA without going too overboard this is due to my slightly insane amounts of playing IAA.

What is your favorite department? Why is it your favorite department?
Central Command (IAA to be specific) I personally find it really fun to act like an annoying bureaucrat because i feel that it can bring a lot of interesting things to the table.

Tell us a fun fact you know about the game. The more niche, the better.
The Central Command lighter has the same welding properties as the experimental welding torch, that being able to weld with glasses that have basic flash protection without hurting your eyes.
The atmospherics network monitor is extremely useful if pipe sensors are properly set up

Tell us about a roleplay moment you fondly remember.
This was quite a bit ago, I was playing Braden Christopher as IAA and the NTrep was Suri, throughout the shift Braden and Suri kept clashing with each other until we both ended up in NTrep's office and Suri ended up threatening me which ended up in us fighting, people noticed thru the window and then security arrived, i was still barely standing upright while Suri was in critical condition on the floor, Security immediately thought i tried to kill Suri because i had their cane blade in my hand which i procured by flashing them, because of Suri's amazing ability to turn stories around everything got blamed on Braden, which ended up in an execution order being send for Braden.
Mora and me talked about it later and we both found it an amazing shift and up to this day it is still one of my favorite roleplay moments and shifts
(Left out a lot of RP details because then this section would be longer than the rest of the entire application)

Are you committed to keeping up with mechanics changes and learning them so you may teach new players, and presenting a friendly, helpful face in our community?
Yes absolutely, even currently i already try to do so because i personally find it fun to keep up with mechanical changes.

Are you willing to assist admins with whitelists by helping look over and pre-approve them?
Yes

(Please do tell me if i've forgotten to add something)
