Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
Richard Slater (One of my main SS14 characters):
Richard Slater is a middle-aged human man with short blond hair, combed to the side. He is roughly 182 centimeters tall and is lean but not muscular. He walks with a confident stride but is twitchy and easy to be frightened by loud noises or nearby yelling. Richard is selfish and immature when troubled with conflict, but never violent or antagonistic without reason. Although Richard can maintain his composure in social fights, but when faced with a fight or flight situation, he will often choose flight. Richard prioritizes his own survival over heroism and will often choose to run from harm. When he was young he practiced hard and eventually worked his way into a space station doing cargo work. In his first station he experienced a hull breach in his department, harming him and his coworkers. After this accident, Richard has had a constant paranoia that someday, somehow, this may happen again. After this incident Richard takes an extended break from the job to reflect, but eventually decides he is better off working on a station then anywhere else.
What made you join Funky Station?:
I have been playing Space Station for several months on several stations, mostly Wizards Den and Goob Station to learn the mechanics. I enjoy both of these servers but neither have fully fulfilled my want for a roleplay focused server that still maintains gameplay. When i was younger I used to play DND with several friends of mine because I enjoyed the roleplaying aspect, which I am now looking for in Space Station 14. I have heard Funky Station is one of the best servers for a fun roleplay experience with people who want the same thing. i believe the whitelist system also helps to ensure the only people in the server are people who want to have the same kind of roleplay fun rather than ruining the game for others like I have seen in other servers. On top of this, I have also heard of the overhauling that Funky Station is doing, which makes me curious and excited to see how it changes the experience.
