Abstract
Jounce Megahertz, possessing 10 Ph.D degrees, 1 honorary Ph.D degree, and 1 Bachelor’s of Arts degrees, has been hailed as an eccentric and unpredictable voice in the scientific community. His outspoken opposition to ethics and sometimes even the scientific method itself has been very controversial, though he claims he would never doubt the laws of science, and this study serves as a way to measure life satisfaction in unpredictable individuals, as well as be able to get more of a read on Megahertz himself.
Introduction
The ethics of sapient experimentation has been put into question by many throughout history, and recent studies have shown that sapient experimentation may have a positive effect on the outcomes of the experiments it’s implicated in. Behavioral sciences are the obvious field that this benefits from, though it’s also been shown that Physics, Metaphysics, Xenochemistry, and Plasmadynamics can also benefit from this, as long as the subject’s health can be considered intact (Megahertz 2979).
Leading an individual on a wild goose chase is not a new concept, and one of the best methods of determining the reactions of someone is to do exactly that. Puzzles have been used as a way to make sure someone goes the way you want them to (Zane et al. 2023)(Megahertz 2979).
One’s life satisfaction is most measured by their general personal esteem as well as their fulfillment of life goals. However, how one achieves these life goals has been shown as a major factor as well, with unsavory methods being shown to lower life satisfaction (Hasketeree 2976).
Methods
Megahertz was given an experimental design and was told to run it himself and stay in frontier sectors for running the experiment. In reality, the experimental question was one that was specifically chosen to keep him in such sectors and go off the original design to seek the answers himself. The question, in nature, is unanswerable, and the time it takes for him to solve this is a secondary independent variable.
Outside of the frontier sectors, his progress is being closely monitored by 153 interns. The intent is to see if there are different outcomes based on Megahertz’s quantum state. These outcomes are measured, logged, and compared amongst each other.
Psychologist Hasketeree, the main designer of this experiment, has made the decision to follow Megahertz into the frontier sectors to more closely monitor his progress. Each of his instances have been organized into categories, to better indicate the general idea and ideology he develops.
Megahertz has also been instructed to give monthly updates on his progress.
Results

Figure 1. Instances of each ‘path’ that each intern is monitoring.
In the vast majority of measured quantum states (110), Megahertz has been observed in Nanotrasen research. In 20 instances, he has been observed to take a more independent method to research, as a Captain or Wizard. In 7, he has been observed as a syndicate agent, attempting to gain funding for his ventures from them. In 1, a freak experiment has caused him to be infected with the pathogen known as Romerol. He is unaware of his state of infection, and the intern monitoring that instance has been put under corporate supervision and NDA.

Discussion
Megahertz has, as predicted, taken a scientific approach to his work. However, his positions in science departments of these Nanotrasen stations have, effectively, caused an arrested development in his progress. He seems to make more progress in quantum instances where he goes on his own, however, these result in much more personal harm to himself (see: Agent and Romerol).
His Wizard and Captain instances are considered similar, as in both he works collaboratively with others, as well as attempts to force them to conform to his own research. To purchase his own station, he amassed funding through crowdfunding, soliciting donations in frontier planets, and sometimes from colony nobles. His wizarding came about in a similar manner, though he shows a lot less restraint in his research in those instances, sometimes attempting even hostile takeovers of station science departments.
It’s worth to note that the instances monitored are not the total number of quantum instances. Bluespace readings indicate a higher number of instances, even as quantum entanglement reading equipment can only monitor so much. This study has also served as a way to advance quantum entanglement technology, as well.
Conclusion
As the experiment is still ongoing, new data is constantly flowing to the army of interns. The projected end date for this experiment is 2990 if Megahertz never finds out the unsolvable nature of the question, until the second to last quantum state of his is killed, or he solves the question (unlikely).
