I’ll, um, I’ll do my b-best!!
Kate once worked in an Interdyne facility - a manufacturing and processing plant - before an incident involving radioactive chemicals and a large machine left her genome in tatters. After a series of extensive genetic treatments, she made a full recovery; the only complications being her albino fur stained bright green and her massive medical debt.
Fleeing her increasingly aggressive debt collectors, she made it to a NanoTrasen station where the first thing she did was fight off a xenofauna incursion. The second thing she did was get arrested for possessing Syndicate contraband. Explaining her asylum status did little to sway the station’s security, who confiscated all her belongings (all her belongings) and marched her in cuffs to HoP’s to be clad in Visitor grey.
Her erstwhile colleagues got off scot-free.
The onboarding process with NanoTrasen’s Sapient Resources Department featured components of the Employee Readjustment Procedure (Voluntary). NanoTrasen finished the procedure with additional knowledge of certain Interdyne practices and research. Kate lost much of her memory, and now has a fraction of the chemical and genetic knowledge she once had, a penchant for black-and-red as a colour combination, a number of speech impediments, and severe dyslexia. The multiple substance addictions were there beforehand, though.
She’s also got a lot of anxiety relating to her less-than-warm welcome and tries to do her best to keep people happy. Unfortunately, she’s used to a working culture with more severe (often lethal) altercations and pranks.
After being targeted by a Syndicate recruiter (having forgotten why she left in the first place), she realised there’s much she doesn’t know about the conditions of her employment, and started to resent the paper shackles and memory problems. A dangerous prospect, given her mood swings.

Paragraph 2 happened exactly like that the first time I played her as a syndicate disaster survivor ghostrole on Goob. After killing a Bingle pit (Replicators before there were Replicators) with the sus toolbox she got stripped down and surveilled heavily for the rest of the shift. She got autogenerated as a bright green vulpkanin with red eyes (maybe it’s confirmation bias but I swear autogenerated vulps are more frequently bright green than anything else).
My interpretation with Interdyne Herbals being what they are is that Interdyne is just overflowing with esoteric drugs. I haven’t been contradicted yet!
She tries to go by Kate instead of Kat or Kathy because OOC she’s supposed to be a syndie-Kate
