Background/Personality of a character:
Layla Starr, hailing from Lowell on Mars, currently serving on the SCCV Horizon, was once a workaholic Quartermaster. She took great pride in her job, and basically based her entire identity around being part of Cargo. She was (in her own eyes at least) a respected manager, and had a bright career ahead of her.
Then, after an incident too complicated to relay here, Starr was deemed unsuited for a managerial position, and found herself demoted back to a Cargo Technician. Unable to accept that her career had peaked at 25, and seeing her friends leave for other places of work, she finally quit the SCC to pursue higher education in Logistics Management. Excelling at it, but not feeling it, she dropped out in her second year and spent the next two years working as a hotel cook (she had a lot of shifts in the kitchen aboard the NSS Aurora, before transferring to the Horizon). Despite loving cooking, she turned down a great career opportunity, unable to imagine herself as anything other than a Cargo Technician.
Now back aboard the Horizon, Layla takes a few shifts in the kitchen, but mostly unenthusiastically goes through the motions in Supply.
What made you join Funky Station?:
Space Station 13 is the most fun game I have ever played, except for when it isn't and it's a boring slog. It ruins my life every single time I get into it. I've been clean for 5 years, and then I found out about the SS14 playtest. I had no choice but to try it out. I don't remember why, but Funky Station was the first server I heard about even before installing the game. I'm also just a big Touhou fan, so I kinda love that.
