What's proper escalation for a security member

Hello once again funky admins!
i'm curious as to what counts as proper and improper escalation for security since i've heard that they are meant to be oppressive corporate security officers but i'm not sure when to draw the line between talking and using force as sec.

normally i use a "warn them to stop/comply twice and then use the baton" method which has never been problematic in any OOC context but i don't know if that's more escalation than i need or just enough?
on the same note, when is use of your service firearm acceptable? if someone was fleeing their arrest and i couldn't catch up to them would it be acceptable to fire upon them or what?

also sorry i've been asking so many questions, i don't want to fuck up with the rules again because i really don't want to be a problematic player for the server.

It is dificult to list all proper examples, as it is always context dependant.
As far as your examples go however; if you have warned someone and they don't comply, you are definitely fine to swap to the truncheon. And if they are fleeing, shooting them is the recommended action. Just try to stop if they go crit, and bring them to medbay to get healed after.
