Rimworld Idea - Cast to the winds!

So, most rimworld events across ss14 follow a pretty simple formula: something bad is happening/going to happen to the station, so the crew grab whatever items they can carry, before running to whatever evacuation method is available, after which they all appear on the same spot on the planet, and attempt to build some sort of ghetto/colony. Here is what I propose to alter this: the station is rapidly crumbling apart due to a mayor structural flaw, and the crew have only mere minutes to gather their belongings and whatever other useful items, before an emergency bluespace portal opens in each department or every department member is teleported to "crash sites" that are littered with both departamental and generic debris, and are spread far from other crash sites. This opens up a plethora of both roleplay and gameplay opportunities for all departments: do they work to re-establish contact immediately, or instead focus on building a shelter up first? And once those are established, do they try to form some sort of coalition together? Try to merge into one "station" again? Wage war on each-other with ways characteristic to that department? It's all up to the players and their decision-making skills (and maybe morals)!

i love this idea, the separate colony thing does incite roleplay, sec might become mercs or raiders, medical plays a role as a neutral party that'll heal people in exchange for loot, it'd be great!
