How old are you?

  • 23 years old

Have you read the requirements, and ensured you meet them?

  • Yes.

How many hours do you have on Funky?

  • 1,709 hours on the stats screen; 512 of those hours were transferred from wizden (net funky hours about 1,200)

Have you helped with whitelists before, or played Nanotrasen Career Trainer on New Player Weekend? Please elaborate on which one.

  • No.

What tips you off that a player might be a good fit for Funky, if anything?

  • An interest in a more engaging experience on Space Station (relative to some others) alongside a proven capability or interest in roleplaying well.

Have you ever had an interesting or fun experience helping a new player? If so, tell us about it.

  • I don't typically interact with very new players (lowpop curse), but I distinctly recall enjoying teaching both experienced and relatively new players how to set up the reactor when it was first pushed live.

How do you like to teach interns or new players, if at all?

  • I prefer teaching via guided introductions to concepts; it is important to allow the new player room to interact with what it is being taught such that they are not simply being told what to do/what is going on but given a chance to do it themselves. A good example is explaining how xenoarcheology works primarily by telling the new player what to do (place the artifact on the scanner, observe the console, attempt a node) and what it is they are doing (the artifact has to be on the scanner so that you can see what nodes are available, nodes have varying triggers which can be activated in a number of ways, etc).

What areas of the game would you say are your strong suit, if any?

  • Engineering; I hold about 200 hours in the department and feel comfortable with all engines and most concepts ignoring advanced atmospherics.
  • Space law; about 180 hours in the department alongside around 50 hours of Magistrate makes me confident in its application.
  • SOP; about 70 hours between IAA/NT Rep, I additionally spend time maintaining https://github.com/88tv/IAA-Advanced-Paperwork (probably now outdated).

What is your favorite department? Why is it your favorite department?

  • Cargo is probably my favorite department because it allows me the most activity throughout a round. Unlike in other departments (engineering, security, science), Cargo's goals can effectively be infinitely sought after given enough materials. It helps that Cargo is inherently a very social department - being forced to deliver individuals mail or go to other departments to ask for orders helps to keep a round interesting.

Tell us a fun fact you know about the game. The more niche, the better.

  • The Reindeer has a 22 pierce melee attack. It also has an animated walking sprite in the repo which is currently disabled for no reason in particular.

Tell us about a roleplay moment you fondly remember.

  • As a security officer, my Ruby Burger confiscated an AAC tablet from a mute prisoner before placing them in genpop. This proceeded to launch a widespread pushback from the rest of the crew which ultimately led to a demotion to Security Cadet, which lasted the remainder of the shift. The conflict between members of the crew is integral to having an interesting round on Space Station, so being able to do mean things and receive adequate responses from others is vital.

Are you committed to keeping up with mechanics changes and learning them so you may teach new players, and presenting a friendly, helpful face in our community?

  • Yes.

Are you willing to assist admins with whitelists by helping look over and pre-approve them?

  • Yes.
