ASTR-585, formerly known as KO Bot-251, was initially constructed to be a Boxer, served to entertain patrons in a popular boxing ring in one of the many Nanotrasen stations. However its career was rather short-when its superiors realised the IPC was far too compassionate for a fighter, often holding back its punches and constantly asking if its opponents were alright during the fight. This lead to a series of frustrating losses that costed several thousand pesos, and the eventual termination of KO Bot's profession as a boxer.
The IPC was lost and unsure on how to proceed with its purpose, until it met Astare, a human paramedic who offered it a job as a junior nurse assistant. KO Bot adored its new job, being able to care for and look after those who needed it most, but yet something within its chassis still yearned for more. The safety and order of Medbay was too calm to its brain who was programmed to thrive in chaos and danger. It was only a matter of time when KO Bot asked its human friend to assist her in her job rescuing injured people from the various areas of the station. Utilizing its inorganic body, KO Bot proved invaluable in transversing the many hazards found within a NT station that would prove deadly to organic species, making them a efficient duo in saving lives.
Though it was in one particular horrible accident in Engineering that had ended their spree of success. After a Tesla Engine malfunction injured several engineers, they were sent to rescue them before it was too late. However during their extrication, a lightning strike fried KO Bot's chassis, incapacitating before they could reach safety. Its partner immediately jumped to save the helpless IPC, but unknowingly sealed her own fate as she was carbonized by another lightning strike in front of KO Bot's paralysed chassis.
When some of the rescued engineers were able to stabilize the Tesla Engine, KO Bot was rescued and rebooted back to life, though sadly the same could not have been done to Astare. Devastated by her death, KO Bot chose to honour the one who gave it purpose, and change its name to honour it's closest friend's memory. It became ASTR-585, a name to always keep the memories of its dear friend close to its metallic heart.
