Artyom Vance is a highly disciplined lizard janitor on Space Station 14 who treats every sanitation shift like a tactical operation, driven by his ultimate ambition to transfer into the Security department. Instead of just cleaning up messes, his reptilian eyes are always quietly observing the crew's behavior, treating every suspicious puddle, blood trail, or shattered window as a crucial piece of evidence. He specifically sets his sights on eventually becoming a detective to tackle the station's organized syndicate smuggling and violent crime, believing his current, often ignored job provides the absolute perfect cover to learn the station's hidden layout and security blind spots. While the rest of the crew dismisses the quiet lizard methodically scrubbing the maintenance shafts, Artyom is secretly building psychological profiles and practicing securing fresh "crime scenes" with his yellow wet floor signs, patiently treating his janitorial duties as a rigorous training academy until the day he can finally trade his mop bucket for a badge and a stun baton.
