Your SS14 Username: w3ryfrate

Your Discord Username (only needed for Discord ban appeals):

Banning Admin's Username: DimesEqual9

Role Ban, Server Ban, or Discord Ban: Game Ban and Role Ban from Security (I'm not sure which one of the two is appealable)

Round ID (if applicable): 16830

Reason for Ban: Over-Escalation x 2: As a security cadet during round 16830 on cirno, in response to a minor provocation by a clown, unloaded an entire magazine of a mk58 into said clown.

What lead up to the ban: I discussed a bit with the admin in Ahelp, and apparently I have received multiple reports of over-escalation, so I'm not sure what the other reasons are. With the admin, I only discussed the case with the clown so I will talk about that, because I genuinely don't know what other over-escalation I might have done.

Essentially, I was playing a Cadet during this round, I was just sitting in the station doing nothing, then I get some requests by HoS to get up and follow an Officer around for patrol. So I get up and get patrolling, mind you this was all during code red, the Officer accompanying me goes momentarily to some other part of the station to do something so I am left alone in the middle of an hallway.
Suddenly, a clown creeps up on me, I recognized him because I saw him bothering other people before, so I create some distance.
The clown then says something along the lines of "you know what's gonna happen now, right cadet?" and, out of nowhere, pulls out a fake gun and starts shooting all over the place. I instinctively reached for the gun I got from code red and say over sec comms something like "the clown has a gun" and that he wanted to kill me. So I, foolishly, start shooting at him with my real gun, not recognizing that the gun was fake.
After clarifications, I put away my gun and communicate over comms that the clown wasn't a threat and that I was wrong.
The clown was unharmed, as in he didn't even need medical attention, and I walked away.

The other instances of escalation happened all under code red, so I genuinely don't know what the admin who banned me was referring to, I almost arrested a janitor for possessing a gun in her belt, then arrested an assistant for assaulting me and my fellow Officer who was accompanying me.

Why you should be unbanned:
I want to apologize to the trouble I caused, first of all.
I know I did some dumb shit this shift, I acted out of instinct under code red when I shouldn't have, by shooting the clown who was shooting me with a fake gun; at the same time, all the actions I did during this shift were natural developments of pre-established escalation, being my first shift as SEC and being alone, I had no idea how to manage that stressful situation under code red and I did a mistake, but I wouldn't call it over-escalation, simply because I had no way to know that he was shooting a fake gun in the heat of the moment.
I don't feel like my actions had any negative consequence on the enjoyment of other players, if anything I probably got a few laughs at the people who were spectating, and the clown continued to taunt me even after all of that happened, there were no ill feelings.

Hi, I'll be handling your appeal today.

First of all I'm sorry for the time it took for us to get to your appeal, we've had a bit of a backlog, and as this was a shorter ban that has since expired it fell lower on our priorities.

With a vote of 0/4/0, accept/deny/other, your appeal has been denied. Due to the multiple instances of over-escalation happening over multiple rounds, we felt that the punishment was appropriate. The situation with the clown was not actually of any concern, but instead the other arrests and uses of force you carried out that shift, such as shooting or beating people immediately merely for being slipped or minor provocations. While we are usually more forgiving with cadets, the fact that you chose to leave your assigned security officer made of decide to apply a regular punishment here.
