Chaplain and religious threats.

Hey funkymins!

so, i've been told that chaplain has full knowledge of religious threats (blood cult, coscult, heretics.) but i'm not sure where the difference between validhunting and acceptable behaviour is for the chaplain and these threats.
for example:

-Coscult rifts spawn, can the chaplain hunt the "heretical cult" without it being validhunting?

-Chaplain sees a heretic ritual circle or knife, are they allowed to hunt the heretic without it being validhunting?

-Coscult rifts spawn, can the chaplain offer to work with security to hunt down the coscult or is that validhunting?

-coscult rifts spawn and the chaplain talks about the coscult on common (stuff like "this is the doing of heretics!" and "the end is neigh!", etc) is that allowed?

-some sort of thing relating religious threat is found, can chaplain tell people about these threats and lift the metashield for those people?

i'm just a little confused because mechanically chaplain is encouraged to hunt these threats (null rod weapons, holy damage.) but i don't know if they're allowed to based on the rules.

I am not sure who told you that chaplain has full knowledge of religious threats, but it is not accurate. Chaplains are under the same metashield as general crew. They know nothing about specific antags.

I agree that Chaplains having a bunch of weapons available sets a weird precedent for how they are intended to be played, but I am not in charge of what gets PRd. Rules still apply to the Chaplain same as for anyone else regarding metashield and validhunting.
