Canker is an ancient mothman janitor who, being down on his luck, volunteered to take part in testing the early stages of a new life-extension technology about 600 years ago. While most participants died a horrible death, Canker survived, and was paid a wad of cash which seemed large to him at the time, along with a multi-use voucher waiving the need to pay for future life-extension technologies developed by the company, and giving him priority on these treatments. Much to the company's surprise, Canker lived long enough to use this voucher on the next developed life-extension technology, and continued to use the voucher every time a new one was developed. Through some twist of fate, after centuries of mergers the mothman-run company which gave Canker the voucher would eventually undergo a merger of equals with the then failing Nanotrasen, allowing Canker to keep extending his life into the present day. He used this long life to continue his janitorial job, all the while growing more paranoid with each passing century. He is saving up to someday afford the newest model of plunger.
Extra facts about Canker:
He swears by Nomad Cigarettes, a traditional mothman cigarette brand, and has only been spared spiracle cancer thanks to his frequent life extension treatments.
Due to his paranoia, he is almost always wearing an oxygen mask, save the times he must take it off to light a cigarette.
Being so diligent at his job, Canker will often run towards danger in order to clean the consequent blood pools, all the while taking every precaution to prevent himself from being so much as scratched.
