PERSONALITY
Rex s very driven against corruption. Believes fairness should be across the board. He also will do anything to protect life even if it means giving up his own. He has faced death many times.
These sentiments come from the fact rex feels he needs to atone for his past actions. His goals now are to help uplift his fellow crew to meet their potential and their goals. Rex is selfless also for the most part. He believes certain positions like security, command should be held to higher standards than the crew. Corruption should also be treated harsher for those positions.
Rex because of his past life and service doesn't have a normal reaction to danger. He can be to calm and cool in those situations which is a very bad trait to have. Can lead to him having unnecessary injuries or worse. He also ha trouble coming to terms with what he has done and normally will refuse help with it.
He has been sent to therapy but will refuse to talk about himself only wants to try and solve the therapists problems. He is quite a strange case given his background most people that went through what he did break or go insane. Rex's mental status is unknown but he seems to be of sound mind from all indicators.
EMPLOYEE HISTORY
Rex was born on the planet redacted. He was a good child till his teens had a normal family life with his clan. He excelled in physical activities. Was a good enough student he didnt always fully apply himself though.
Once he turned 15 he found gambling and other pleasures. He indulged himself to the fullest. Soon those activities lead to petty crimes. Robbery, assault, Fraud he stayed to the small pool for 3 years. He was then approached by the organization redacted.
After he accepted their offer he then graduated in his life of crime. Started with extortion and strong arming businesses. He did that for around a year. Then armed robberies bank heists shootouts with rival organizations for the next 2. After that he became part of small group within the organization nicknamed the retrieval reapers.
Once that group was formed they would be sent for big high profile debts. Normally not killing the target who owed just the protection they normally had. They would take anything their superiors would ask them to anything. This went on for 7 years. Rex earning respect through blood and debts.
Then came the faithful day he and 2 others were sent after a wealthy family. On this job at first everything went smooth. They killed their guards and staff for no witnesses. They found the father their target and made him give up what they were after. Rex as he stated to authorities long ago. Explained he was ready to evac packing up things making sure the family was retrained enough for them to leave. The other 2 said stop we have some loose ends to tie up. Rex was taken a back he told them we have the goods leave them be. They aren't criminals or soldiers they are innocent.
The other 2 laughed. They didn't care rex kept pleading and threatening them to stop. They then showed him the final orders received after they notified their handled of success. The family and everyone but them need to be executed. Rex slammed the communicator to the ground then pretended to leave. The other 2 shrugged then knocked the parents to the floor. From all accounts after this 2 shots were heard.
Rex as then seen exiting the estate dragging his 2 dead cohorts while he left. Each one of the had a shot to the head. Rex then went to the authorities surrendered himself. He then told them everything about the organization he knew. When ask if he as scared of reprisal he said my best hope is life in prison. Truth be told I'm already dead at this point.
Rex was put up for execution with a caveat if execution doesn't happen. He gets life with no possibility of being free ever again. Rex accepted this with grace. He then sat in a cell for two days. At the same time the Colonial marines had been pushed back to this sector.
A recruiter for the marines had come planet side. He came to law enforcement looking to conscript some penal marines. When they saw rex's criminal jacket they jumped at the chance to take him. Rex shrugged when he was told. He said I'm dead either way may as well help some people and kill some xeno bastards along the way to my end.
For ten long years rex fought and fought even through almost grievous wounds. He lost his right eye both arms hands and feet in his service. The organic parts of him bear the marks of the combat he took part in. The marines gave him his prosthetic limbs. When offered a new eye he said i was graced with 2 eyes losing one shouldn't hurt me much.
During his service rex learned the value of team work comradery and discipline. He also learned how wrong he was in targeting people just trying to survive in this crazy reality. He was given freedom after the ten years. He was also told that he served with as much grace and poise as a non penal marine.
Since he got his freedom and during service rex had learned law and psychology. To better himself. He applied for a spot on nanotrasen space stations. After a long process of interviews and vetting he was accepted.
Rex now faithfully serves nanotrasen. He will not tolerate corruption. He will always stand and fight against it. From what he says nanotrasen will be the rest of his life.
