Your SS14 Username: Goth

Your Discord Username (only needed for Discord ban appeals): Not needed, but AgentSquidbeak anyway

Banning Admin's Username: Pigfish

Role Ban, Server Ban, or Discord Ban: 24 hour Server Ban.

Round ID (if applicable): N/A I think? The ban reason mentioned "pattern" rather than a specific instance.

Reason for Ban: Antag Rolling - First offense / We have noticed a pattern of you joining rounds to observe them leaving very soon after and rejoining periodically only to then leave soon after as well. If you think this ban was made in error please appeal on our forums.

What lead up to the ban: As mentioned above, I have indeed joined and left rounds as a ghost very often for a long time. That part I don't dispute, I just wasn't doing it for antag rolling.

Why you should be unbanned: I wasn't antag rolling, joining and leaving (as a ghost, never as a crewmember) is a habit I've had for a while for multiple reasons, but most recently I've been joining to spectate whenever I need a small break from writing my character board. I write my Arachne Eldritch lore, pop in to see how the round is going and if I want to wait around to play when it ends or not (I don't like mid-joining rounds beyond around 5 minutes in), then if I don't then I leave again to keep writing so that I don't take up a server slot (since my understanding is that certain things, like indeed antag spawns, are decided based on how full the server is). I can DM someone screenshots of this WIP character board to prove I've been working on it if wanted, it's semi-long and has drawn artwork in it, so it's not exactly something I could forge just for this.

I also sometimes just spectate for a few minutes in a newly started round if I'm too tired to actually play, to see what kind of game situation I WOULD be in had I done so, before leaving to do whatever else I'm planning on doing. Usually, this involves looking at the kitchen to see what the current chef is up to, since that's all I play (they were making a cotton pizza for the moth captain during the last round that I saw). Maybe it's true that I've been leaving more than I've been sticking around and waiting for a new round recently, but that's mostly because I'm a bit burnt out, hence I suppose why I've been writing stuff instead of playing. The habit of joining to see if I want to play next round is still there, but that want to is not.

My reasoning on why you should believe me, more than anything, is how little I play antagonists. I have every single round-start antagonist disabled out of fear (have done since I started playing), and in terms of ghost roles have only ever played mice, revenant (which I no longer play after having been scared by my only ever previous warning in 1.5 years / 500 Funky hours of actual gameplay) and space ninja (which I only have the confidence to play after an outright request, pep-talk and kind tutorial in ghost chat / ahelps a few months ago from Ferynn. As I described, I was only planning on waiting for a new round at that time, back when I wasn't burnt out). I've never even been imprisoned by security in my 1000 steam hours, this game is a borderline job simulator to me.

My mentioned neuroticism around revenant should be proof enough that whether you revoke this ban or not, I'm going to stop doing the spectating-and-leaving thing. The only reason I'm applying to have this removed is because I'm sad that people will think I was malicious when I wasn't, both now and in the future whenever they look at my remarks. Had I ever been told either in game or on discord after I left the game "Hi, you're acting like someone who's antag rolling does. If you're going to spectate, please spectate for the full round." I would've overcorrected into never spectating again, but this wasn't communicated to me even remotely; I logged in to find a ban that I had absolutely zero idea was even on the table.

Thanks either way, sorry if I rambled, never written one of these before.
