Genestealer Cult antag idea

okay so, i recently decided to learn more about the tyrannids from warhammer 40K which made me realize that the genestealers would make a great space station antagonist. they would be a mixture of coscult and changeling focused on converting new genestealers and collecting biomass in order to "summon the saviors" which creates a rift that continuously summons xenos that hunt and kill everyone on the station (including the genestealers) which ends the round.
there are four parts to this antag:

  1. genestealers-
genestealers have three main tasks, convert, feed, and summon the xenos. they do the first two by hunting down lone crewmembers and critting (not killing) them where they can use either a conversiom ability or a feeding ability, the conversion ability will implant a "geneseed" into the victims chest cavity and convert them to the cult, granting them access to the "Brood" radio channel and the same abilities as all other genestealers. it will also heal the victim out of crit and remove all bloodloss/bleeding, the feeding ability is how the cult gets biomass, it deals 100 slash to the victim's chest and creates a large amount of blood. the genestealer is then granted biomass (basically reskinned entropy, not the item.) which they are meant to bring back to the core. THEY CAN FEED FROM THE SAME PERSON MULTIPLE TIMES! IT IS EXPLICITLY A BAD DECISION TO LEAVE THEIR VICTIM TO ROT!!! during phase 1 all genestealers have half the damage resistances as the security armour vest but during phase 2 and 3 genestealers have the same damage resistances as the security armor vest but lack unique offensive options until they convert to their "true form" which changes them into a large xeno type creature that gets extra damage resistance and essentially changeling blades, they cannot be brought back from this state and lose all hand slots to their blades, this cannot be done until phase 2.

2.the original genestealer-
the genestealer cult is a roundstart antagonist that starts with only one member who is designated the Patriarch/Matriarch/Progenitor (He/She/They). they are the leader of the cult and as such are the most powerful member, they are responsible for getting the first few converts and establishing the "Core", a fleshy mass that uses biomass to strengthen the cult. if the core is destroyed the cult will be crippled, instantly causing all genestealers to scream in pain and take continuous caustic/airloss damage until dead due to their geneseed dissolving in their chest, the genestealer is then deconverted upon revival and becomes a normal crewmember.
the leader is a stronger genestealer, they have a small amount of passive regeneration and their true form has a unique sprite that is almost as large as a ravager and has 150 health before crit along with better damage and damage resistance, they give an extra 5% movement speed and 10% damage dealt/resist to all nearby genestealers that are in their true form. they are a threat that should be focused down when seen or else it will end poorly for the crew.

  1. phases-
there are three phases, "Silent", "Preperation", and "Ascension".
the "Silent" phase is focused on conversion, the cult is weak during this time and must grow in numbers and collect more biomass.
the "Preperation" phase is when the cult is most likely to be killed, they can create a "Makeshift Autogun" out of any projectile weapon at the core (with the intention to upgrade improvised shotguns into them.) and can create "Makeshift .20 Ammo" out of steel at the core, along with the "Autogun Magazine" item out of plastic. these are slightly weaker than security's guns because it is intended that the cult seizes the armoury by converting security members but the intention is to encourage some people to stay out of their true form and provide ranged support for the cult.
the "Ascension" phase is the "loud" phase, Delta alert is triggered and the location of the core is announced. the crew must destroy the core before it can create a rift to summon an unending horde of xenos that take over the station.

  2. counterplay-
the genestealers thrive in the dark corners of the station, there are a few main ways to discover a genestealer cult:
The best way to discover a cult is by doing surgery on a suspected genestealer and searching for a "Geneseed" in their chest cavity, removing the geneseed instantly deconverts the genestealer but also puts them in a small coma that erases their memory of being a genestealer.
Another way to discover a genestealer cult is by paying attention to what the suspect is saying, after phase 1 all instances of first-person singular pronouns will be replaced by first-person plural pronouns (ex: "my bag." to "our bag.")
another way to discover the cult is to check blood puddles for the "nucleotide" chemical, which can only be made from a genestealer feeding.
the last way of discovering a cult is poor for confirming one but serves as an early notice that there may be one on board, if a shift has a unusual amount of patients coming in with large amounts of slash damage to their chest it signifies that there may be a genestealer cult on board, this encourages medical to record what their patients came in with (i love making people record everything it's so useful :godo: ).
for actually combatting a genestealer radiation damage is your best friend, they take a significant amount of extra damage from rads due to it disrupting their DNA, burn damage is a suitable alternative due to them lacking resistance to it. You should avoid letting them close range at all costs, they thrive in melee combat and will tear the limbs from anyone who gets too close.

there are obviously problems with this idea, balance is always an issue and you'd have to make sure the theming is unique from their 40k inspiration (maybe have them be a "Xenoid Infiltration Cell"). this is also intended for after the forky update when mindshields are no longer a feature, i also think the core and biomass lacks a real use but i had no ideas other than generic "no hunger" or "no air needed" abilities so i didn't mention it.

feel free to reply your opinion! i want to hear everyone's thoughts on this idea!
