Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!): I primarily play as a basic "self insert" character, who is often sarcastic and snarky, but generally well meaning and willing to help in hard times (e.g. he will drag you to medbay if he watches you die, but not without commenting on your skill issue). I also like to play as an IPC with a more formal and polite attitude.

What made you join Funky Station?: Honestly, I just saw a post on r/ss14 complaining about how the roleplay on most servers sucks, and many of the comments said "try funkystation, it's better". Also, I'm migrating over from SS13 because I felt like it was becoming not as fun to me (too many 18+ and/or medieval fantasy servers)

Can you provide us with more detail surrounding the personality or backstory of any character you have roleplayed as in the past? I'd like to see three to four sentences of detail regarding the above or any interactions you've had which you can remember as memorable on other servers. If nothing comes to mind, feel free to improvise a character for the sake of this whitelist.

I'll just give an answer for the first character I mentioned, as that's the one I'll be playing as when I first join:

My "primary" character, Jerry Chazos, is a "self-insert" in that his IC reactions are just how I personally react OOC to whatever happens in the game. As Jerry, my main occupation is clown (his clown name is simply "Jerry"), simply because I like the job's greater opportunity to get into ridiculous scenarios while making wisecracks at my own or other's misfortune. Otherwise, Jerry sticks to the more "procedural" jobs (e.g. medbay, cargo, engineering) and sticks to keeping his head low and just do his job rather than wander and talk (any more than the job requires). With that said, Jerry is also my go-to antag character, and as such he (me) prefers to get his objectives over with quickly and sooner rather than later (while adhering to proper escalation rules, of course)

To elaborate on the "making wisecracks at my own or other's misfortune" part, as previously stated, Jerry will still do what he can to help those who are dead and injured (usually involving taking them to medbay), he's just likely to make light of the situation while doing so, often out of schadenfreude. The point is that I don't take the game seriously at all (i.e. I'm just here to have fun, not to win), and that is reflected in Jerry's attitude

Thank you for elaborating! I'm going to accept your whitelist but i am slightly concerned about the "self-insert" part, please remember to keep your character detached from yourself as it can easily lead to frustrations on your part (Of course i do not know how this would effect you but i'm just doing my due dilegence giving you this warning)
