Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
A character I've enjoyed playing and developing on Wizden is that of The Oak Of Harmony, a Diona. I usually play them in service, medical, or cargo roles, as that feels like the best fit for their personality. They're a Diona that wants to create a peaceful and helpful culture and environment aboard, and are happiest when they're able to help someone out. Be it by listening to a crew member's drunken ramblings at the bar, delivering a cargo shipment that is key for someone's projects, or saving a crewmate from the brink of death so they can continue onward. Mentoring the junior members of crew gives them great joy, there's a magical feeling in seeing someone go from completely lost at shift start to handling things independently by evac time. They have an aversion to antagonists and security, due to the violence they are often entangled with, and will sooner flee and try and get others to safety rather than taking on those problems head on. Their pacifism and neutrality has its own drawbacks in a chaotic station setting, and can cause interesting inter-department friction and roleplay moments to emerge. Similarly, being unable to help someone can cause them frustration and despair, as they find themselves lacking purpose or failing in the calling they believe to hold.
What made you join Funky Station?:
I've been playing SS14 on Wizden for the past 2 months and have really fallen in love with the game. Something I've been really wanting is a higher baseline of RP, at an MRP level, which Funky seems to be ideal for. I also enjoy the additional content that Funky has compared to vanilla SS14, especially with the Forky rework, which sounds like a great way to keep things fresh and exciting! I've spent some time diving into the Wizden code and have wanted to start making contributions. This is something I'd also be interested in with Funky and their codebase, to fix bugs, make changes, and overall improve the codebase.
