Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
Ariv Kuznetsov is a character I've used in GTA RP, SS14, Barotrauma, and PZ rp. I tend to change their backstory based on the setting. Typically however, they're a cold and calculating character who either works for someone in power or works for themselves. A morally ambiguous person who abides by their own moral code, they tend to value self-reliance and compassion and love philosophy. Their lenient moral code lends favor to their profession typically drifting into a criminal one, as they either tend to go into a lawful position (to help those in need, albeit they still tend to abide by their own rules) or into an unlawful one to pursue a goal or gain (and end up getting in trouble with the law itself). I love playing as Ariv because getting in trouble for skirting the law, and trying to get away with it, is incredibly fun (assuming both parties are good at roleplay). Scheming and mercenary work are some of my favorite things to do when playing Ariv. As an example, if the person who hired Ariv to kill someone doesn't tell me why, or Ariv ends up meeting the person and find out they didn't do anything wrong (in Ariv's personal moral code) then Ariv may end up betraying their employer. Whether that means killing their employer, or simply pretending like they killed the target or did the deed is up to how severe and heavily context dependent. Another example is being a public defense lawyer, and doing chicanery to get criminals out of trouble (like using legal jargon to scare an officer into giving a warning). One time, even accessing the legal database for personal gain in regards to blackmailing people. Obviously there was a court investigation into the matter, but nothing could be proven so a BAR suspension happened for a month. But regardless, it's a very fun moral and ideological archetype to play as.
What made you join Funky Station?:
The desire to play with people who are good at roleplay and a whitelisted environment. I was also informed, possibly incorrectly, that there are more in character punishments then ahelp ones which is a massive draw for me. The best RP on servers I've encountered has been ones that skirt the admin rules, so a server where consequences (like killing people) aren't enforced by god but by the law is one I am all the way for. Mainly that's do-able because it's whitelisted/entrusted that people will follow the rules more.
