Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
My SS14 character Mistgaze was the first real character I made for SS14, after a random moth I played while I was learning the absolute basics of the game. I ended up doing Botany and Chemistry, but refused to speak in Common as much as possible. It created an interesting dynamic of doing my best in my job while being profoundly frustrating to work with if the other person didn't know Sign. The reasons for why, evolved--pathological liar caused by a failed pacifism chip, inspired by having picked the Thief background at random and reading about that trait of the Thief antag role. Then later additionally, damaged throat. Sign got around both, and being drunk got around pathological liar. I went with this over Mute because I wanted to tell a character story about someone having to extend themselves in exhausting ways, but still driven to do so for some people by a fundamental need to be relied upon as competent. It was a lot of fun to gradually refine an initial mix of random "that looks fun" picks into a coherent character.
What made you join Funky Station?:
Several of my friends either are or want to be on it. They've all said the RP is really high quality, and that the systems have a lot of intentionality and coherent interaction behind them. I'm really curious to see what that's like, and also just to meet new people and RP with my friends.
Playtime
I'm aware that Funky has no time transfers, but I figured it couldn't hurt to provide proof of having played this game a lot already. All of these hours are from Starlight, mainly the Beta server.
