What lead up to the ban: As acting captain, Didn't rescue the salv as soon as they cried for help while the station was having power issues, this led to them gibbing due to rot. After rescuing them and seeing their entire body dismembered and in extreme rot I decided to bring the head to science to be put into an MMI to see if they would want to be borged or cloned, after bringing the head I was ahelped and messaged by Pankeku with the simple message of "This body is recoverable" and then proceeding to tell me that I wouldn't be able to recover the body after breaking the head open. I break it open and put them into the MMI, they say they dont want to be borged so I leave the brain with the chemist while I try and get cloning working. Shuttle arrives so they never get cloned.

Why you should be unbanned: As the acting captain, is it my responsibility to LEAVE the station due to someone getting themselves killed? The note mentions talking to medical about borging them, however in the Ahelp exchange, they never mention going to medical to ask the staff about the borging or if the body is recoverable. The intention was to never borg the brain in the first place unless they wanted it, hence why they were put into the MMI and left instead of instantly being put into a borg, and then when they refused borging I attempted to get cloning set up so their brain could be put into a new body. I was never told to consult medical about them, the Ahelp exchange was pretty much just "Not everybody wants to be borged" even though my intention wasn't to borg them in the first place, it was to put them into an MMI to see if they wanted to be borged or cloned. - As the acting captain, I dont have an expectation to leave the station to rescue someone who died, (Pacifist Salvager Thief) I went out of my way to recover the body as soon as the station was stable for me to leave, and put them in an MMI so they would still be able to have interaction with the round, along with having a choice between being borged or cloned.

You were the captain without any security, you were the only one that could do it without arming crew, "acting" title doesnt matter.

There was a CE (promoted atmosian), one engi and a TA, they can setup the power, besides, someone dying should be a priority before fixing the power.

By doing this you basically left me two choices, Borg or Death, borg being a boring role on my opinion and death being preferrable due to ghost roles, you should've asked medical to get me back up as they are normally experienced in those before gibbing my head
while i did die by my own fault to a spider, medical would've been able to revive me if you let CE do their job as a department and helped me or hell, even got paramedics to save me

There were only two Engineering staff as I was one of the engis, the TA wasnt do much of anything and CE was running the entire thing by themselves, so they needed some help to get going

There were other cargo staff who could have went to rescue you, plus the department was EA'ed so anybody could've gone to save you really (They could've gotten PKA's from the salv area)

I agree with this and it is something I will do in the future, however bringing the body to medical was never directly stated in the ahelp, thus why it didnt happen

Hello, I will be handling this appeal.

After reviewing the situation, we have elected to deny with a 5-0 vote.

We came to the conclusion that rescuing a salvager as captain is above and beyond what is required, but your decision to gib the head despite being explicitly told by an admin that the body was recoverable via medical was incompetence as command.

Gibbing the head forces them to decide if they want to play a borg, wait for medical to fix them (which will now take LONGER, and may not happen at all since now an entirely new body and head must be acquired) or just give up entirely and go play ghost roles. You should ALWAYS take bodies and heads to medical and wait for them to decide what the best course of action is, rather than condeming a player to a playstyle they may have no interest in.
