Sal Rose
Felinid | 25 | Nyanbinary, they/them
Preferred Roles
‣ Psychologist "Pseudo Therapist"
‣ Cargo Technician "Pseudo Mail-Felinid"
‣ Janitor
Sal prefers roles that include little to no violence, as a pacifist they would not be fit for roles such as SEC and may struggle with expectations as Seats of Command. Sal can be seen mainly running as the station Janitor, more recently a Cargo Technician/Mail Felinid, and has recently completed four years of training to obtain a Psychology degree off duty. Unfortunately, not all space stations are equipped for a Psychologist, but they can take up that role when available.
Mental Description
Sal aims to please and help the crew in any way they can. They may be a bit awkward at times and don't know what to say besides purr and meow, but they genuinely have a good heart and want to seem "useful". However, they tend to get lost around the ship no matter how many times they look at the map. They also struggle to ask for help and try to do things on their own. This comes from fear of disappointing their superiors. They are a pacifist at heart and are only violent towards vermin and bugs. Mice and cockroaches beware. They will make them a snack. They do not drink or smoke and hope the job does not drive them to do so.
Sal has a complex relationship with religion and religious figures and is willing to listen and be open-minded. Yet, will probably never be ready to accept any religion ever again.
Under pressure, Sal is a very different person. They may begin to hiss, growl, and show signs of what a feral-cat may do in cases of high stress and danger. They will swear, yell, and be an almost polar opposite from who they normally are. It shouldn't be taken in offense if you are in their way and face a few hisses, as they are simply scared and feral instincts are taking over.

Their build is lithe, which helps them keep on the move when running around the entirety of the shift. Across their back is a long, grotesquely healed scar from their past. They hate it and do everything they can to prevent others from seeing it.

Sal was born into the [𝚁𝙴𝙳𝙰𝙲𝚃𝙴𝙳] cult in the far reaches of space. This cult was known for their devotion to The Dragon. Most of their early memories involve being indoctrinated and forced to follow the cult's radical rules and beliefs. Despite only ever knowing this, there was one single light in their life. One shining beacon trying so desperately to secretly keep their child's mind open.
Their mother.
Their mother, having been kidnapped into the cult, still knew what life was like outside it. This allowed Sal’s mother to teach them ideals and values outside of the cult's belief system. Sal’s mother told stories of warmth, kindness, and love. They were fed stories of trust, resolve, and reason. Despite having to play pretend for both their safeties, for years the two lived quietly in their fantasies when not perceived by the cult. Hoping, that maybe one day the two could escape and see the world their mother so lovingly reminisced.
However... Nothing lasts forever. Their heresy was discovered by their father. He had suspicions but felt ashamed to have to report such a crime to the leaders. Once it was revealed, though, that Sal and their mother were heretics among the cult... Sal was made an example. They were cast to be a sacrifice for the Dragon that very same day.

With their mother's dying wish to escape as far away from this place as Sal could, the Felinid boarded the makeshift shuttle. Due to the cult's interference... their mother could not be brought back. And it seemed likely the same fate was given to Sal if the time ever came.
Sal does not believe in a god. But Sal believes in friendship, trust, love, and honesty. Their mother gave them nothing but kindness until the very end. And so, Sal would spend the rest of their life also giving kindness. Sal would never forget the light their mother brought into their life and vowed to carry that torch until their final breaths.
That being…. Well. Working on Space Station 14. As NT had found them flying through space and offered them a position. Not that Sal had much of a choice.
