I don't antag roll - that is, I don't roll a normal roll then cryo when I don't get antag.
I roll for engineer, and if the map turns out to be Core (or a map that lacks an engine I wanted to play with), I cryo.
Is this still considered a rule break? While I do enjoy getting antags, I don't actually specifically roll for them and then refuse to play a round when I don't get them. I just cryo any time I feel like I won't be able to have a fun round - which is any time I am an Engineer on Core, or Roid when the SM isn't something I feel like fucking with that day/shift.
If you're wondering why I dodge Core like this - play Engineer on Core, and you'll understand. There is no PTP, so there is no reward to any amount of effort put into the engines. The SM is so out of the way that its extremely difficult (and dangerous) to try and use, and the Reactor is even worse (i've been actively murked while doing Core reactor over a dozen times because of how out in the middle of nowhere it is - it's practically a maint). And to make matters worse its the single worst set up and supplied reactor in the entire rotation (The least amount of space, the fewest free rods, and basically 0 extra mats lying around with no way to actually acquire more). The atmos is extremely tiny and cramped such that basically only 1 person can do anything in there at a time, and there is a wiring issue that sometimes catches CEs off guard and results in a singuloose because CE is used to checking every 30 minutes instead of every 20 (and only CE can refuel the singu due to a lack of HEV suit; regular engi suits almost always die of rads when they try to do Singu refueling despite the "80%" rad resistance).
All in all, the map has a ton of longstanding issues and, if I recall, is soon to be reworked (including the addition of a PTP); though I do not know if the map will be better to engi on after it.
For now, at least, I am committed to never doing engi on Core again and if that's bannable then I'll just stop hitting the ready button and latejoin only from here on out.
