Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!): I played a shadekin on Starlight, which I dont believe is a species on Funky, so I'll have to make a new one when I see what speaks to me during character creation. Generally I try to play helpful and nice characters that break down when situations start to rapidly deteriorate. They still do their best to keep others alive or make it to evac.
What made you join Funky Station?: I started playing SS14 recently and "only" have 120ish hours on Starlight Alpha. I know I havent seen much yet but I watched some ItsMaitake on youtube recently and really enjoyed the episode with the clown and everyone elses interactions and storytelling (RP). Found out that was funky server and just the interactions between crew felt so much more alive.
What finally made me bite the bullet and apply was my last shift on Starlight. I spawned in as a vistor midshift, a HoS with a SecOff on a broken escape pod. We limped our way back to the station, I requested permission to come aboard but didnt have external access and we were running out of air. Took 20 minutes of all Command staff and security staff of ignoring my radio calls for help when we started running out of all air and back up air. A roaming miner answered our common radio cry for help and got us inside.
We make our way to HoP to get paperwork to work for Sec, and anyone and everyone completely ignored any story we were trying to run with. We were probably the lone survivors from our station that escaped in a pod. We are not allowed to say the nature of the disaster due to privileged information, but are looking to join this station and help out where we can. HoP was just like "uh, ok well go find someone to stamp this, bye." Same reaction from HoS - "Oh yeah here be a secoff, go turn this in". Turning in the paperwork, some random tider grenaded me in the line while I was asking in LOOC if anyone else was lagging as bad as I was since i could barely move. They turned around, said "oh yeah im lagging back too" then killed me with a grenade. They were not an antag that round either.
While I get that not everyone can or will engage in a story, the level of RP on the server just has felt quite lackluster in general, and the amount of self antag grey tiders just makes it not fun at times as well.
