Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
Meet Terry Brindle. He hasn't amounted to much in his 30+ years of life, but he certainly wants to. Desperate to be liked by everyone he tries to keep his head down and get his job done, currently as a station engineer. He's humble enough to appreciate help and a hangout, but really he hates the way everyone looks down on him. He does important work! He still remembers people ignoring his hard work in his first job as a janitor, and how people would trample over him. One day, he'll prove himself, in the meantime he's got another shift to perform in.
I like playing characters that have more going on than they let on, emotionally or otherwise. Generally I like the roleplay moments that come from arguing, or from sharing stories, and I love getting stuck into more complex mechanical aspects. In SS13 I used to play sec in a lowpop high roleplay server and it was the most fun I had in the game. Getting to actually consider what space laws are being broken, putting out warrants on people, really getting stuck into the role. Being able to do roles that engage some level of thinking and problem solving, whilst getting to do some roleplay and have moments with other players is really satisfying.
What made you join Funky Station?:
In continuation from the above. The chaos of low RP is entertaining for quick sessions and learning mechanics, however I miss the slower pace that comes with higher requirements of roleplay. I don't have the time for high RP these days, so an MRP server seems like the best compromise. I can still get the great moments of roleplay and people actually doing their jobs in character, whilst not getting stuck into the multi-shift ongoing character development.
Funky seems to be highly praised as a server and seeing some of the stuff being done on bringing over the antags from SS13 is very cool. Keen to get stuck into it!
