If someone (for example a traitor) was trying to bribe a command member/security officer with syndicate contraband, would you be allowed to take the item as a bribe and keep it for yourself? Or would that be a powergaming rulebreak?

Re: Bribing with syndicate items
Citing previous admin discussion on this, short answer: yes.
Long answer:
The reason we don't typically allow command or sec to use antag items that they confiscated is because of powergaming concerns. It is generally an issue in cases where one side gains an advantage without any input from the other side. If that advantage is freely given, for example in the context of a bribe, we no longer see it as powergaming. Which is to say, if a security officer is bribed by an antag with an item, they are ooc-rules wise allowed to carry and use said item.
Though, this does depend on how much roleplay went into it, and how subtle they're being with it. There's a big difference between noslips and an esword. If an officer is openly carrying around the latter, we might be looking at the round's HoS, Captain or CCvips with scrutiny for allowing this to happen.
So long as it's realistically played out, it's a reasonable bribe, and you're not flaunting the item without any recourse from other crew, it's fine.
