Reason for Ban: "Violation of Several Rules: NITRP, OOC Toxicity, and Play Your Character/Stay in your lane. I (Huhm) do not believe that Funky station is the type of server for you."
What lead up to the ban: A mounting sense of hostility between me and the admin team that developed over the course of our interactions for several months. During a round review the admin team found my actions in round 14885 to be hostile towards my character's peers without proper escalation, caused by OOC emotions, and to be heedless of others in the round. When confronted about this in a discord ticket I was defensive, hostile, and immensely distrusting of the admin team, which led to the head admins deciding that, due to the hostility I had displayed over the past months and my unwillingness to budge on whether my actions were right or not, I was not a good fit for the server as a whole. As such I was permabanned.
Why you should be unbanned: After some days passed, I spoke with the head admins a lot. I engaged in a sort of... honest conversation with them. I laid out how I felt about what they'd done. They laid out how they felt about what I'd done. I spoke of my reasons for my actions, they spoke of their reasons for their actions. What I had done during that round was picked apart and examined from both sides. How the admin team had seen me was picked apart and examined by both sides. How me and my friends had seen the admin team was picked apart and examined by both sides. The barrier of mutual hostility was seen, measured, and chipped away piece by piece by piece.
I want to be unbanned because Funky is fun. The art's good, I'd made lots of friends and a small community from it, and I just enjoyed the fork lots. I want to reimmerse myself in the server and develop my characters on some silly stations again. I want to make my vulpkanin and have him get up to some dumb things. I think that, after how much I've spoken with the admin team and ruminated on the matter, I have a better understanding of what the rules mean, the bounds in which my character is expected to act, and what to expect from the server as a whole.
And most importantly, I feel like I can honestly and openly talk with the admin team now. I feel that any problems I might have will be listened to. I feel that if I am confronted over how my character or myself is acting, I will be able to ask questions and that I will be answered. I feel that I will be listened to, thus I will be able to speak openly.
I can't promise that no new issues will come from me. I believe I now understand what the rules on metagaming are meant to prohibit. I believe I now understand how hostile a character can act without being undue/unreasonable. I think I have a better idea of how to handle escalation depending on the role my character is in and who they've issues with. Yet I still may stumble my way into new problems I don't know to avoid.
What I can promise is that when those problems come, I will be able to speak openly and honestly about them. I can promise that I will ask and answer freely. I can promise that I will be approachable and easy to understand. I can promise that I will listen. I can promise that I will do my best to maintain an understanding between myself and the admin team on any issues they may have with me going forward.
I think things will be better this time around.
