Probably an overhaul of baseline NPC behavior (behavior trees one day...), which I guess is a collection of mini-features but whatevs.

A lot of what I am thinking of is based on how monkey's acted in ss13 goonstation, getting really peeved if you sang around them, pickpocketing random people, maybe just deciding to shove someone over, being harder to wrangle in general too.

Station pets is another key part, a lot of them just sorta perform random-walks and thats kinda it for npc behavior. For example, cats could run under tables if a bomb (or otherwise loud startling sounds) go off. Having a cat knock an item off a table or a dog chase it's own tail would go a long way to make them seem like an actual animal and get the general playerbase actually caring about them.

I think you're just describing Foxhole..?

funnily enough i have played foxhole before and it is close to what i'm thinking about but it doesn't have really any focus on RP and is a mix of WW1 and WW2 and is just generally kinda dead nowadays.
also iirc foxhole battles are 50 v 50 and i'm imagining this as a more condensed 125 v 125 (fairly unrealistic, but going off average RMC server pop) purely WW1 game with a much stronger focus on RP.
foxhole's development decisions are purely mechanical, i'd want this to have feeling like WW1 as the top priority.

i don't know if it's possible or not in ss14, but in ss13 we had a fillable field option for paperwork.. imagine.. not having to go through formatting hell to fill a form, you can just click the field and input text!!! genuinely why isn't this a thing in 14 i'm pulling all my hair out

Fun fact! RMC, out of all forks, has this feature.

The ability to take little sips instead of instantly chugging everything i drink 😭 i think its kinda silly it defaults to that. why am i drinking so fast stooop!!!!!

i wish examine text would show up in the chat box... it is so hard to examine things. i get it was a change made for combat or something, but it feels unnecessary a lot too. but you still have to get CLOSE to someone to examine them so it feels kinda dumb.
flavour text doesnt matter anymore because someone has to stay perfectly still if you wanna examine them. i dont mind getting close to examine. but i miss seeing peoples character descriptions. as an artist its sucks not being able to know what people look like because you cant really go off of tiny sprites unless theyre really simple. and the people who DO write them i never get to actually see :( its probably one of the biggest downsides of 14 for me honestly.

but also BLOOD OVERLAYS OHH. Funky is a little bit closer with the footprints, but it's not quite there... in 13 you got BLOODY. ive seen people mention getting dirty and washing clothes here but ive never actually seen anyone covered in blood?? if im crazy please tell me. maybe ive been unlucky, im still new. or maybe its just flavour? but the lack of blood makes this game feel sooo sterile compared to 13...

THIS!!!
not to sound "edgy" or whatever but SS14 needs more gore, the main issue imo is that there's only the generic puddles when we really need blood smearing (ex: having a small smear decal appear every time someone is shot) and blood trails (ex: someone crit crawling leaving a unbroken line of blood decals along the floor)

tbh las-sec does not help with this problem because the lasers cauterize wounds but also i sort of just don't like las-sec in general (because i don't enjoy playing it and am 50/50 on fighting it)

also funky does have dirty clothing as a mechanic but blood soaking really only ever happens in melee combat or when someone gets shot with ballistics (or falls in blood)

Bitrunning needs to be added from ss13. i think it is very cool and would be a better system in ss14
