Billy Thorne, oldest son in his family, now middle aged. He didn't care much for his family when he was young, but now it felt like it should mean more to him.
His eldest sister Siobhan the Doctor always made sure he ate healthy...
His younger sister Carmina the Engineer patched up the problems that he caused...
and His youngest brother Angriff the Marshall turned Sec Officer was always watching...
His younger siblings, all adopted, were a constant reminder from his dad that he would never be as good as the children that were actually wanted. He spent a number of years driving freighters... and done time in corpo jails for drinking, flying, and fighting.
After a particularly damaging bender, Billy was slated for hard time. A short time in, he was offered clemency through a prison-release program in the Rouny's Marine Corp. He had no clue what he signed up for. Walking with his fellow prisoners on the front line... He didn't even see the xeno that grabbed him, causing him to discharge his weapon into his foot. The next thing he remembered, a medic was pulling him out of a membrane... just in time for emergency surgery.
Billy still drinks... he still fights... he still works... but he doesn't take risks anymore... nothing was worth that hell.
