Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
Barrington Price. Bureaucrat. Underachiever. Born to push paper, but forced to drop fries. He gets home every day from working in a hot kitchen and takes a shower. He puts on his clean, pressed suit and organizes his briefcase. He walks 8 minutes to the train. He rides the train for 11 minutes. He waits 4 minutes for the bus (unless it is late, and it's always late) and rides 17 minutes to the bus stop right outside his front door. This is his commute. His "suit commute". The commute that makes him feel like he's living up to his own expectations. He walks inside and sits down at his desk. He turns on a cold, fluorescent lamp over his desk, opens his briefcase, and gets to "work". "Mr. Lechmere wanted that report on his desk first thing tomorrow!" he says, as he shuffles papers and pecks away at his typewriter. He takes a short break to get a drink. His "coworker", a tabby named Bruno, greets him at the water cooler. "Sorry Bruno, I'd stay and chat, but Lechmere will have my ass!" Barrington works late. He falls asleep at his desk. He sleeps extremely well.
I've played many versions of Barrington Price, but I enjoy a stuffy little guy who is just thrilled to be trying his best to do his job. He's not overly combative, but he'll get very cross if someone gets in the way of what he's trying to do. I know the above is a bit of an abstract answer to the question, but please let me know if you need me to go deeper on the character, or other characters. Ultimately, my goal is to be a contributor to collaborative storytelling, and rather than play an exciting character, I find it to be very fun for me and for others to have a very boring character who sometimes--as a treat--can break out of his shell.
What made you join Funky Station?:
A friend who is a member of your community referred me. I don't know who they go by in this community, but I know them as Banana Jones. I've been looking for a community to play with that isn't overrun with hundreds of new players who aren't interested in roleplaying. I played a lot early in development, and contributed to the code on some forks of the game, and I've been looking to get back into it for a while.
