Herran is a sweet and innocent druid, who, unfortunately, happens to be a skeleton. He's very kindhearted, regardless, a bit of an independent thinker, and a bleeding heart when it comes to making sure animals are being treated correctly.
Ironically, he's not a pure vegetarian type, and will specifically hunt down particularly mean-spirited (but tasty) animals if asked to provide meat for his still-living adventuring buddies. If anything, the fact that he can sometimes hear the animals being rude to each other makes him angry at their own, much more simple societies' social injustices.
On a similar note, he treats being undead as a sort of social injustice, as he can see why people may hate him, but he doesn't really get it. He didn't ask to be reanimated, but he doesn't really want to die again, as he figures that dying hurts a lot, and he knows from experience that it hurt the first time, at least. He's overall just waiting until his magic runs out or he turns to dust, and will treat that as a respectable natural death, assuming someone doesn't resurrect him into a living person before then, which is something he's not too sure about yet...
