Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
Generally, I enjoy playing as an friendly idiot, because it's easier to roleplay as a character that's dumber than you over a character that's smarter (believably at least). If I do play someone smart, I usually make them very booksmart while lacking common sense/survival instincts. Kinda like a happy go lucky mad scientist (which I think fits in quite nicely with the overall ethos of space station 13/14 as a whole). Generally I prefer to be helpful and cooperative in my interactions, with an improv 'Yes-And' based approach where I roll with the punches. I prefer to be malleable and adapt my own writing to mesh with the writing of whoever I roleplay with so that we can actually get some synergy going on the character writing. To me, if you want to portray a king as regal and imposing you don't focus on the king, you focus on everyone around the king. Having a believable cadre of characters who buy into whatever the author is selling goes a long way to making an interesting and believable character! As for the background, that's something I build up naturally over time with context so I usually give my characters a very open ended background to solidify over time. Ok this already feels pretty verbose so I'm going to leave it here.

What made you join Funky Station?:
I am mainly joining on a whim without any prior knowledge of the server, I'm trying to get back into ss13 as a whole and was always interested in trying ss14 so here we are! I picked this server *specifically* because I've been immersed in anime culture all my life so it would be easier to vibe with everyone in a server full of members with similar interests! I also like the 2hus as a secondary (plays the side games and shit, will get around to the main games eventually... ) so this server name just stuck out to me. Hopefully I'll be able to join and have fun with everyone in the server soon! thank you for taking the time to read my application, have a nice day!

ok, I'm seeing some other appeals and I'm thinking I should give a bit more info so I'll just get ahead of the curve myself!

I'm going to play as Hermes (pronounced Her -meez). They are a type Space Doll clone/robot (depends on aesthetic choices, I wouldn't mind playing as an android but only if I can still make my character look humanoid with hair and a face) that was found by a salvage crew floating through sapce in an abandoned ship, inside of what could only be described as a coffin. Hermes is primarily focused with uncovering more info about their past (if they even have one) while working aboard Nanotrasen's ship vessels as a fledlgling scientist/roboticist, which they seem to have an affinity for. Having woken up as a blank slate, Hermes is very curious about the world and will absorb all the sights, sounds, and ideas around them like a sponge. This often plays out very comedically as they often recite what they've been told without fully understanding the context of what they're saying, or taking sayings more literally than expected. After a while, they do start to do it on purpose because they love seeing the reactions of others, with the laughter of others being their favorite expression of all. Hermes has pale skin, long white hair split down the middle and deep, blood red eyes that seem to gaze into the depths of your soul.prefers wearing ostentatious, fancy clothing, but is willing to mix it up for a good laugh. Seemingly a social butterfly, their isolated origins have left a lonely hole in their heart. Hermes craves the attention of others in the hopes of filling it one day, without realizing that they're really searching for more meaningful personal connections and a place to belong in this vast expanse of the cosmos. Hopefully they find it on board the station!

P.S., I appreciate the effort on your whitelist post! It's rare to see someone push this much into it, and I had a good time reading about Hermes. I'll note that Funky Station isn't very Anime, and the only real touhou references are in its name and the Cirno plushie that's on the server. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!
