If my character has a mental disease/disorder , how far can it go until its too far ?

When it comes to playing a character that suffers from mental illness, we have three major concerns regarding our rules.

First of all is playing a believable character. Your character needs to be believably hired by Nanotrasen to be able to work on a space-station. If you play a character with a mental disorder that prevents them from being fully incapable of doing a job, then that is not a believable character. (Yes this includes assistants and job-name variants.)

Secondly is escalation. We require all characters to follow reasonable escalation. In character insanity does not allow you to skirt around escalation rules.

Lastly, and this one is a little more abstract, are the rules against bigotry. For anyone wanting to play a character suffering from mental illness, please consider if you're portraying it in a respectful way. Think about the people who are suffering from such things in real life and consider how they would feel when exposed to your character. Remember that people suffering from mental illness are much, much more likely to be the victims of violence then the perpetrators of it, despite what depictions in popular media might make us believe.

TLDR: The character must be believably hired by NT, follow escalation rules like anyone else, and please remain respectful around these topics.
