He'd have to be naive to the surroundings but still wary. A bit curious on experimentals but won't commit to anything too rash, although his clumsiness may be a detriment to himself and others. If he worked as a cargo technician, he'll be treating anyone else but him by calling them "Boss", no matter who it is unless of course, it's an individual he has no business with facing.
