I’m just going to copy and paste everything I put into the ticket I made I’m to lazy to manually retype this.
Okay so this has really rubbed me wrong and I just constantly at random intervals just remember it and get rubbed the wrong way so I thought I should bring it up.
Below (or technically above) is a video from Acorn that he uploaded recently, and the Admin shown here really feels like theyre showing abuse of their power, I’ll explain my 3 main reasonings below.
A) First of all, at 0:24, he explains that he was selected by a random number generator. The “random number generator” feels like blatant bullshit to me. Impossible? No but how convenient it is for it to land on the Youtuber out of every single person on station. Not to mention that they would have to filter out Command, Sec, Ghosts and existing Antags as well and therefore manually assign each elligible crew member an individual number which makes this feel all the more unlikely. This feels like just favouritism.
B) At 15:33, Acorn says that they didn’t have a Martyr tab. Since I wrote the code (albeit it’s terrible Ive always wanted to go back and fix it) I know how it works. Once a Traitor is rolled, their objectives are checked and then if they have DAGD, the extra TC and Uplink Tab is added to the player. This isn’t a roundstart thing, this always happens when a Traitor is rolled. So basically, this means that they intentionally added DAGD to Acorn, this isn’t something that happened naturally and wasn’t luck of the draw which seems really dumb to me.
C) This comes from personal experiences but a while back I had a Nuke Ops round where the entire server basically bricked itself from a bugged Paradox Clone spawn. After all was said and done the round was restarted and I lost my chance at playing as a Nukie. All 5 of us asked in OOC after about Antag tokens and the Admins said “we only do that when an Admin accidentally ruins the Antags game, not when the game does” so why is Acorn allowed to suddenly become an Antag without a token out of nowhere?
What I’m mostly getting at here is that it feels like Bloodslayer or whoever the Admin was I can’t be bothered to remember was just blatantly abusing their power and picking favourites just to be in a Youtube Video, everything feels so incredibly unlikely here and I feel like this would not have happened to literally anyone else other than Acorn, just randomly becoming an Antag let alone being given DAGD for no apparent reason even though they weren’t going to have it originally. Could I just be overthinking? Yeah. But everything as explained above added up makes this out to feel like it’s taken too far.
