Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
- i think ultimately a lot of the characters that i end up playing end up being some form of "me but X" in the sense that, even though i give them distinct backgrounds and come in with a lot of different concepts about what they should be, at some point i get tired of sticking to the character and after a couple of hours of play their personality can just end up becoming "what would I, if i was in their shoes, do in this situation" which is not ideal but I think I've gradually been getting better with that.
i think Uwokondranus was a fairly decent character. he was a minotaur fighter (5e) who really wanted to become a knight. his biological parents were killed in a human invasion, and he was adopted by one of the officers who ended up teaching him in the arts of chivalry (with just the small dose of hypocrisy) and warfare.
he ended up being very gung-ho for state authority (he would physically not understand the concept of ACAB) but as a person he was very decent and respectful of people.
his chivalry was a bit mixed - quixotean, but genuinely well-meaning, acting like a folk hero might: rushing into combat brazenly, trying to take on challenges by force, rescuing people in trouble, being the first in line to stand up to a dangerous foe or stand up to injustice, that sort of thing. and, when not in a time of crisis, he spoke eloquently and diplomatically.
as all knights do, he eventually became landed and started a modest but successful business on his estate. hooray!
i think if Uwokondranus was employed by NT (in the distant, distant future in a galaxy far, far away) his neuroses would have to fully fall down on either side of the coin - either he goes full don quixote and becomes a windmill chaser, getting himself into trouble and foolishly rushing into battle against overwhelming odds and chasing foes of his own invention, or he becomes an insufferable stickler for procedure and engrains the SoPs into his mind like a borgie would their laws. i think it would most likely be the latter. he'd be the kinda guy to calmly and impassionately tell people to line up and put one hand over another person's shoulder and slowly leave the room during a fire while the fire is in their room and quickly encroaching.
What made you join Funky Station?:
- friend suggested it (@diethyl on discord). i am interested in trying out different ss14 experiences to see what's the mix that i enjoy most. so far I would say I like deltaV more than Spellward, for example. i was told that funky goes kinda crazy because it's survival mode so i wanted to see how that goes! ^w^
