Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
One of my most played characters from the rooster I've made over the last couple of months I started playing SS14 is just a human, Billy McGee. Billy is a short, middle aged, bulky built, half-bald ginger man who looks like one of those menacing figures in the distance, with a birthmark on the right side of their scalp and a curved posture, a raspy voice from chain-smoking, a relaxed walking pace wherever they go, a tendency to not say more than they're meant to at most times; when they're initially approached to someone new... Which would make you think they're wise in SOME way, and they have a story to tell, but it's really just a character to relate to Occam's razor in the sense they are simpler than they look.
They are a hedonist, one who makes ends meet by working the bare minimum to afford spending their time on vice at the bar, be it gambling, drinking, smoking or chatting, Billy is a self-centered guy, whose most banter they partake in is light-hearted, with a sense for having time of his own to enjoy on station.
Given the grind of this character, a little bit of his background is them adhering so much to service roles they've miraculously been picked to partake in a new station to fit any service role required from them at once, given his flexibility to do janitorial work, botany, cooking or bartending, it makes him a MacGyver for service roles that may or may not make him stand out among his future peers, which will make for good stories when put with other crew.
What made you join Funky Station?:
I had many roleplay encounters where I laughed out loud playing ss14 these past few months, it reminded me of the last time I roleplayed years ago in some San Andreas Multiplayer servers (I didn't know about ss13 by then and if I did then I'd have definitely played it earlier). I heard of Funky Station through Acorn and Amok videos appearing on my YouTube feed after watching a couple of ss14 related tutorials. I'd like to join now that I've gotten well past the basics of the game and I'm interested in meeting more people in a whitelisted server (this being my first one to apply to) where the rounds are calmer and more of blank slates where everyone's character can directly affect the entire round, and to try and move away from LRP occasions in really big pop servers (as my game hours usually collide with high pop times) where you might not get the best roleplay encounters due to people seeking different goals all at once, hence more chaos. Well, I'd like to join to experience that same chaos but in a more structured manner I guess, yup yup.
