Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!): I guess the latest character I've been workshopping (not for SS14) is a sort of fungal symbiote named Fen. Her origins are basically just classic primordial soup monster genesis stuff. Discarded bits and pieces of, possibly magical, human junk is left to decay in the swamp, Scraps of books, dolls, furniture, etc. Eventually, after consuming enough of it the fungus starts to "hunger" for those scraps specifically, and after long enough, starts to acquire some of them for itself (you are what you eat).
So, assembling a doll-like human disguise, it/she ventures out of the swamp to go find more "food". She has imperfect changling powers, being able to change shape but never looking quite right (like a ditto, kind of), and she's somewhat durable to most things by nature of being a hivemind fungal colony rather than a single entity.
Of course, having never interacted with real humans before, or even learned to read the books she eats, she doesn't really understand morality or ethics beyond what makes her happy and what causes her pain. Despite that, she finds humans interesting, so in general she tries to make them happy so that they won't attack her and maybe even let her eat some stuff.
She doesn't really need sleep, but she prefers the nighttime and has a very faint biolumiscent red glow which makes her look a bit startling when she's wandering around in a cloak at night, like a sea of eyes.
