I am here to spread JOY AND POSITIVITY. All who
are my ENEMIES.
In all seriousness, good lord, yeah, Warden is a stressful job. Formally, your duties are to protect genpop and the armoury, and to sentence people. Even that alone is stressful since sentencing is very involved, and it sucks to have to try to balance that with all the other stuff relating to prisoners. As if that wasn't bad enough, a bunch of content was gradually added that encourages the warden to act as a dispatcher for rest of the Security team. Camera monitor in your office, crew sensors monitor (which I'm pretty sure actually exists for you to track paroled inmates who have tracking implants, not so you can coordinate officers), and the final nail in the coffin was Dispatcher being added as an alternative job title.
Don't get me wrong, I think having Dispatcher available as an alternative title is great for the Warden players who do want to be a dispatcher. But it also kinda established an expectation that the Warden is someone you can rely on to do that, even though it was never formally added as one of their duties. Luckily Forky will be better in that coordinating the department is only ever listed as the duty of the Commandant, and the Dispatcher exists (even if Dispatcher is deleted, Commandant is still explicitly responsible for this as things currently stand), and of course sentencing is now handled by the Magistrate. So things are actually looking pretty good! Might start playing Warden regularly again after we switch to Forky.
