Suri let out a soft laugh at the question, "Well- you see, I used to be a salvager out on the Frontier. Did all the typical things you'd expect...but- I realized something after an accident," he trailed off solemnly, reaching to the side of his chest where the old burn scar sprawled.
"Life is short, " he muttered, rubbing his hand through his feathers, "and I didn't want to spend it all throwing myself on expeditions, wrecks, and asteroids not knowing if I'd live or not, freezing to death out in space... so I decided to sign up with Nanotrasen's security force. I got accepted kind of immediately, given my skillset and- well, thats history. Went from secoff to warden after losing my eye, then warden to HoP after I got too 'soft' by their standards-ACK!" he laughed.
"I don't mind it though, it's nice, it's quiet. I enjoy the work I do now. I get to help the crew in a way outside of beating the clown with a nightstick-" he let out another soft 'ACK-' at the thought.
"I get to help lead in a way I find matters, that makes sure that at the end of the day, this crew is taken care of, and that I'm there for them, that's all that matters."
Where is the end of this hell?

"I-um-" he clears his throat and shakes his feathers out, "I found an old training video when I was scavenging. I liked...the work they appeared to do in it, so I learned what I needed to earn employment here."
Despite his professional demeanor, Relilikav appears...decidedly embarrased.

“I started at Nanotrasen because of a recommendation from my superior officer. I was just leaving the army after a personal loss, and I needed some time for myself. Nanotrasen has been good to me. They have good healthcare, and most shifts are green. I even got time to hunt a dragon or two, which was fun. I also have this burning passion for not starving to death.”

She'd hurt tha thing that'd attacked her, but nae enough ta kill it. Ah remember puttin' me pickaxe through tha thing's exoskeleton, and it's ae blur from there.
Tha next day, management offered me ae position on tha security force. 'Worked fer em fer another three rotations, 'fore ah quit.
Turns out that corp has ae reputation in tha market, tha NT interviewer practically hired me on tha spot when ah mentioned tha name. Security work out here's different than it wis on Hoxxes, ah wish ah'd known that."
