Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!): I usually like playing characters on the sillier side but I also really love to experiment and play around with what I can do when making a character. I'm currently in a game of Dungeons and Dragons (I've been playing for about 7 years at this point) and my current character is a Bard named Edith Taryn. She's a snarky and egotistical (but lovable) pirate who uses a magical bass guitar as her spell focus. She was born into squalor in a medium-sized fishing village on the coast of a collection of small islands that formed a nation-state. She was abandoned by her parents when she was young and was forced to learn how to defend herself. One day a large ship had docked on the port, waving a flag that sported a big skull (with a fluffy beard) and crossbones, she was starving and decided to try and steal some rations by sneaking onboard. She was quickly found by the Quartermaster and was brought to the captain, a dwarf named Ulysses Copperbeard. Instead of throwing her off the ship or killing her, he decided to take her under his wing. She spent the next 20 years of her life raiding ships and drinking copious amounts of rum until she met up with an Eladrin and left in the night (a decision she regretted deeply). While she usually acts with a sense of pride, there's also a softer side that's recently come up after the death of a close party member. I know that SS14 tends to be on the sillier side of RP but I love being able to try my best and make realistic characters.
What made you join Funky Station?: I saw some recommendations for it on Reddit and it looked interesting enough!
