I think it's pretty fun to play the new kid around the station, who seems a little dazzled by everything that's going on ("oh dear oh dear this wasn't in the training videos...") - though not to the detriment of the station if in a critical role (unless I"m being OOC Incompetent. oops)
I think most people are more creative / funny than I, so I don't mind going along with what people are doing in the round and can change to match at times. I'm still learning how to be better at forming and playing a character though.
What made you join Funky Station?:
Well it's the Funkiest Station so. the choice was easy 
Really though, the website aesthetic is great and having a forum during the Discord monopoly era is pretty cool. Also explicitly welcoming new players with the new player weekend title is nice 
. I'm still relatively new to SS13 despite playing for a bit, and other servers seem to go overboard in complexity, while this one looks relatively easy for someone moving from SS13.
