-How old are you?
I'm currently 26.
-Have you read the requirements, and ensured you meet them?
I have all the hours requirements, and I do consider myself helpful and friendly, I always try to answer game questions in the discord when I can/when I have the knowledge to do so.
-How many hours do you have on Funky?
Currently 552 hours 3 minutes
-Have you helped with whitelists before, or played Nanotrasen Career Trainer on New Player Weekend? Please elaborate on which one.
I haven't had the chance to do either.
-What tips you off that a player might be a good fit for Funky, if anything?
Mostly their willingness to RP a character, their past RP experience if they have one, and their overall behavior
-Have you ever had an interesting or fun experience helping a new player? If so, tell us about it.
While not that big of a thing, I remember teaching an intern as CMO and they took IC notes on a paper on what I told them, which I both found cute and showed me they were dedicated to learning medical.
-How do you like to teach interns or new players, if at all?
Depends on my role, but as command I always approach intern role players and ask them if they need any help and/or if they need to learn/would like to know more about any specifics of the department. I then try to check on them throughout the shift to see if they're doing okay.
-What areas of the game would you say are your strong suit, if any?
I'd say mostly medical and engineering (bar advanced atmos stuff).
In medical I pretty much mostly know about everything except possibly very niche chem usage, and in engineering I know how to setup and operate every major engine.
(I've helped people set up the nuclear reactor more times than I can count, haha.)
-What is your favorite department? Why is it your favorite department?
I'd say service, despite not being too knowledgable about things like botany mutations and such, I love playing service for the low stake jobs that still give a lot of RP opportunity.
Close second would be medical, it's the first department I started with in SS14 in general and I do enjoy "hospital RP" a lot.
-Tell us a fun fact you know about the game. The more niche, the better.
Plasma gas in the nuclear reactor works by making gas channel rods produce neutrons when hit by other neutrons, so while there's little reasons to do it, you can absolutely make a working reactor with no fuel rods as long as you have at least ONE fuel rod to initiate the neutron production
-Tell us about a roleplay moment you fondly remember.
A small RP interaction that always makes me laugh looking back at it:
As sAI in a traitors round, QM spotted someone wearing a blood red outside cargo, which made them instantly scream about a Nuclear Operative being outside cargo in the command channel. Confused by this, I understood "nuclear operative" as "someone who works with nuclear reactors", which was strange since there wasn't a reactor on station (Eden), which led to command making up an excuse about the "nuclear operative" wanting to build a reactor on station, which is BAD since Eden is "not certified to have a nuclear reactor running in it". Around 15 minutes later, when security caught and brigged the blood red wearing traitor, I holopad called them to BEG them to not build a reactor on the station without elaborating, much to their horrified confusion.
-Are you committed to keeping up with mechanics changes and learning them so you may teach new players, and presenting a friendly, helpful face in our community?
Of course, I'm very much looking forward to Forky and I'm already trying to learn about the new changes before it releases, and I will continue to do so until it does/
-Are you willing to assist admins with whitelists by helping look over and pre-approve them?
I would probably need a bit of guidance at first, but I'm absolutely willing to help with those as well!
