Amazing! I get to talk about my favorite character!
This fella is named Kylan 'Paul' Walsh, and I usually play as him on CM-SS13
It's universally preferred to roleplay the good guy, or maybe even a self-insert. But it's way more interesting, and even fun to play as a bad guy, or someone imperfect.
This fella comes from an MRP+ server, so I have put way more effort into this character than any other. His personality and background are actually based on Anthony Swofford's book, "Jarhead" (some of you may have seen the movie), and its themes of indoctrination. While the main theme in "Jarhead" is this form of expectation, fruitlessly waiting for when shit hits the fan, another interesting subject that is portrayed in the book is indoctrination. Thus, I centered Walsh's personality around it, with stuff like identity fusion, hyper-masculinity and the thought of righteous violence, that we also see in "Jarhead". I believe that this way, Walsh's character is also capable of portraying my anti-war position in my classic, incentivized way.
When it comes to making a character, I don't have a set personality, thought, and action pattern for them from the get-go. Instead, they usually take form at the same time as I'm playing them.
What made you join Funky Station: I've recently started playing SS14 and have already put some good hours into Wizden's, and now I'm looking to reach out into other servers to get a diversified and maybe even more fun experience.
