Briefly describe the background and/or personality of a character you enjoy playing (Can be SS14, DND, or a character you just made up!):
One of my favorite characters was Alexander Miller, a Vampire: The Masquerade character who performed in Las Vegas under the stage name "The Great Phantom."
Publicly, he was an extravagant and theatrical stage magician. During his shows he appeared to levitate objects, make people disappear and reappear, and perform seemingly impossible feats. In reality, he secretly used supernatural abilities to enhance his performances while making sure the audience believed they were witnessing nothing more than highly sophisticated stage illusions. He deliberately walked a fine line between wonder and skepticism, wanting people to believe they had seen real magic while still dismissing it as clever trickery.
Behind the curtain, however, Alexander was a very different person. He was cold, calculating, patient, and constantly planning several steps ahead. His stage career was never his true goal. Instead, it was a long-term investment designed to accumulate wealth, influence, and connections.
His ultimate ambition was to purchase and renovate a large theater of his own. The theater would serve two purposes. Publicly, it would become one of the most prestigious performance venues in Las Vegas. Secretly, it would become the foundation for a new Tremere Chantry. He carefully sought out talented performers, artists, and entertainers, intending to surround himself with ambitious and creative individuals who could eventually become loyal servants and, in time, members of his clan.
What I enjoyed most about roleplaying Alexander was the contrast between his public and private identities. In public he referred to himself in the third person as "Phantom," acted dramatically, craved attention, and loved being the center of every room. In private he viewed almost every interaction as part of a larger strategy. He preferred negotiation, manipulation, investigation, and long-term planning over direct violence, and many of his victories came from preparation rather than force.
In general, I enjoy roleplaying intelligent and ambitious characters with clear goals, strengths, flaws, and motivations. I find social interaction, investigation, and character development far more interesting than combat itself, and I believe that success, failure, and even a character's death can all contribute to a memorable story when roleplayed well.

In general, I enjoy roleplaying characters who are clever, investigative, and socially skilled. I am less interested in combat-focused characters and more interested in creating stories, solving problems, and developing meaningful interactions with other players.
What made you join Funky Station?
For the last few weeks I have been regularly watching a friend of mine (TMoN) play on Funky Station through Discord streams. Seeing the different roles, from Detective to AI, Scientist, Security, and even antagonists, made me interested in the kind of stories that naturally emerge during a round.
I come from a tabletop RPG background and have spent a lot of time both as a player and as a game master. As a game master, I often improvise stories based on player actions, so I value character development and collaborative storytelling more than simply "winning".
I would like to try many different departments over time, although Security and eventually Detective are the roles that currently interest me the most. More than anything, I am looking for a server where I can create interesting interactions, learn the game, and contribute positively to the roleplay experience of others.
